We Continue to Grow Together

We are proud to announce that Westfalia Fruit Peru, in its continuous efforts to promote growth and increase the productivity of local farmers, has signed an important agreement to provide support in the cultivation of Hass avocado to small producers in the Moquegua region which will support the development of their farms and ultimately improve their quality of life as well as the wider community.

The cooperation agreement was signed by ITP (Technological Institute of Production), Association Quellaveco and Westfalia Fruit Perú. The agreement guarantees the implementation of localized irrigation systems and the use of renewable energies such as solar panels. In addition Westfalia will supply highly productive Hass avocado seedlings with ongoing specialized and technical advice to produce consistently high quality avocados that meet the stringent international quality standards, enabling exports to the extensive global markets Westfalia supply.

The project will start in 2022 with 95 small producers, farming 98 hectares in the Porvenir Sector, Moquegua district, Mariscal Nieto Province. Omar Diaz, General Manager of Westfalia Fruit Perú adds “This is the beginning of an ambitious and exciting project for us that aims to expand our commercial alliance working with more producers and communities in the different regions of Peru, to grow in a sustainable manner and supply high quality avocados throughout an extended season.”
